Text editor questions
Is my text saved or uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Your text is kept in this browser's local storage so it survives a reload, and the Clear button removes it.
How are words and characters counted?
Words are runs of letters or numbers separated by spaces or punctuation. Characters count every letter, number, space and symbol, and there is a separate count without spaces.
How is reading time calculated?
The word count is divided by 230 words a minute, a typical adult reading speed. Speaking time uses 140 words a minute.
How long should a title tag be?
Aim for about 50 to 60 characters. Google shortens titles that are too wide for its results, so put the most important words first.
How long should a meta description be?
Around 150 to 160 characters usually shows in full on desktop. Google sometimes writes its own, but a clear, accurate description still helps people choose your page.
